Roberto Bertero was born in Turin (Italy), in 1969.
He graduated, with the highest marks, in Organ and Composition (concert of honor) under the guidance of Massimo Nosetti at the Conservatory "Giuseppe Verdi" of Turin (separate branch of Cuneo), continuing studies with Jean Guillou, at the International Academy of Organ Interpretation & Improvisation in Zurich Tonhalle, and Michael Radulescu, specifically for the Bachian repertoire.
In 1993 he won the "Marco d'Avola" Prize at the International Organ Competition at the Pontifical Institute of Sacred Music in Rome.
In 30 years of concert activity, he has performed in the greatest cathedrals and concert halls of Europe, America, Asia and Oceania, such as: the United States Military Academy (West Point), Crystal Cathedral (Los Angeles), Mormon Tabernacle (Salt Lake City), Konzerthaus (Berlin), St. Paul's Cathedral (London), Cultural Center (Hong Kong); International Organ Festivals in Tallinn, Balearic Islands, Lahti, Morelia, Sydney, Monaco, Trondheim.
Since 1994, he has worked many times, as a soloist and orchestra professor, with the RAI National Symphony Orchestra (tournée in the Canary Islands - performance of the F. Poulenc Organ Concerto).
Also remarkable the number of collaborations with embassies, consulates and representatives of the Italian Republic abroad.
38 years of experience as an organist at the service of the liturgy in various churches of the Archdiocese of Turin.
Since 1998 he is titular organist at the Santuario della Consolata, in Turin.
On 2005 he was appointed organ teacher at the Civic School of Turin.
Discography includes recordings for Syrius, BNL (his organ transcription of the Rhapsody in Blue by G. Gershwin) and Priory Records, at the world famous Van den Heuvel organ of Saint-Eustache, Paris, for the series "Great European Organs".
His repertoire includes the works of the main composers of renaissance, baroque, romantic and modern music and several his own transcriptions of important pages of the symphonic and chamber music repertoire, from Bach to Stravinsky.
His transcription of the Air "Erbarme dich", from the St Matthew Passion of J.S. Bach, is published by the Swedish editor Trumph.
Always in search of the intimate connection between art and the infinite, Roberto Bertero is also an active and appreciated photographer of the Alpine range, with various works published in specialized magazines.

Roberto Bertero è nato a Torino, nel 1969.
Ha conseguito, con il massimo dei voti, il diploma in Organo e Composizione organistica (concerto d'onore) sotto la guida di Massimo Nosetti presso il Conservatorio “G. Verdi” di Torino (sez. staccata di Cuneo), proseguendo gli studi con Jean Guillou, presso l’Accademia Internazionale di interpretazione e improvvisazione alla Tonhalle di Zurigo e con Michael Radulescu, per l'approfondimento del repertorio bachiano.
Nel 1993 ha vinto il Premio “Marco d’Avola” al Concorso Internazionale di Musica presso il Pontificio Istituto di Musica Sacra in Roma.
In 30 anni di attività concertistica, si è esibito nelle più importanti cattedrali e sale da concerto d’Europa, America, Asia e Oceania: Accademia militare degli Stati Uniti (West Point), Crystal Cathedral (Los Angeles), Mormon Tabernacle (Salt Lake City), Konzerthaus (Berlino), St. Paul's Cathedral (Londra), Cultural Centre (Hong Kong); Festivals internazionali di Tallinn, isole Baleari, Lahti, Morelia, Sydney, Principato di Monaco, Trondheim.
Dal 1994 vanta numerose collaborazioni in veste di solista e professore d’orchestra con l’Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale della RAI (tournée nelle isole Canarie - performance del Concerto di F. Poulenc).
Nutrito anche il numero di collaborazioni artistiche con ambasciate, consolati e rappresentanze della Repubblica italiana all’estero.
38 anni di esperienza come organista al servizio della liturgia in varie chiese dell'Arcidiocesi torinese.
Dal 1998 è organista titolare al Santuario della Consolata, in Torino.
Nel 2005 è stato nominato docente di organo presso la Scuola Civica di Torino.
La produzione discografica annovera incisioni per Syrius, BNL (la sua trascrizione per organo della Rhapsody in Blue di G. Gershwin) e Priory Records, al celebre organo Van den Heuvel di Saint-Eustache, a Parigi, per la collana “Great European Organs”.
Il suo repertorio include le opere dei principali compositori di musica rinascimentale, barocca, romantica e moderna ed un gran numero di proprie trascrizioni di importanti pagine del repertorio sinfonico e cameristico, da Bach a Stravinskij.
La sua trascrizione dell'Aria "Erbarme dich", dalla Passione secondo Matteo di J.S. Bach, è stata pubblicata dall’editore svedese Trumph.
Sempre alla ricerca dell'intima connessione tra arte ed infinito, Roberto Bertero è anche un attivo ed apprezzato fotografo dell'arco alpino, con lavori pubblicati su molte riviste e testate del settore.
